Tech Briefing: To Know and Do - Thursday, March 30, 2023
This week’s Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) Tech Briefing contains new information and training opportunities.
ET&S to Uninstall Box Drive and Sync Starting April 3
To Know: Starting the week of April 3,ET&S Desktop Support will auto-uninstall Box Drive and Box Sync from users' computers.
To Do: If you still use Box Drive or Box Sync, please back up anything added or edited within the last 6 months to Microsoft OneDrive or SharePoint before Monday, April 3.
ET&S to Remove Box Access Starting May 19
To Know: ET&S will begin removing access to Box for all users on May 19. After access is removed, users will no longer have access to UNH Box files and data. Report schedulers and link users should continue working with ET&S to migrate all data.
To Do: Training: If you have not done so, consider attending Microsoft: M365 Office Hours. This is an open, drop-in time to ask questions and receive expert consultation for those seeking assistance using any M365 tools to meet their course/teaching, storage, file sharing, and collaboration needs. Visit the AT Training Calendar for more information.
Classroom Technology Tip
To Know: Over the last few years, Learning Space Technologies refreshed all Registrar-controlled classrooms at UNH to the current standard HDMI digital signal cables to connect laptops and permanently installed machines to audio-visual systems. All laptop manufacturers transitioned to USB-C ports for charging and data transfer (video, audio, and external control signals). Many of these computers require a USB-C adapter to connect to HDMI, while others are equipped with an HDMI port and do not require an adapter.
To Do: If you need a USB-C adapter, LST recommends this one. As a reminder, connecting devices in this order is important: Connect cables to the adapter first, then connect the adapter to the laptop.
ET&S Learning Design and Technology (LDT) and our vendor partners host training and office hours. Register for upcoming sessions through the links in this announcement. We are looking forward to continuing to offer in and virtual sessions this semester.
