Adult plays with three children at a table

The Granite State College (GSC) Child Welfare Education Partnership (CWEP) works with the State of New Hampshire to enhance the quality of care for children in placement by providing competency-based, accessible, and local training to foster parents, adoptive parents, and the Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) staff. Curricula are developed responsively, collaboratively, and in a manner designed to maximize adult learning.

Whether classroom-based, workbook-based, or online, GSC delivers courses in a supportive atmosphere that recognizes participants’ levels of experience. The CWEP partnership with the State of New Hampshire is very important to Granite State College and satisfies an important need for both the state and its citizens.

With the retirement of the UNH Events system a few years ago CWEP needed a supportable and efficient replacement solution to allow for user-friendly course registration, and reportable data with the ability to push data to the Canvas Learning Management System. Enterprise Technology & Services built a system using Banner Self-Service functionality, and the data is stored in the Banner Student environment. Once in Banner, the data became easily reportable and sent to Canvas using existing processes.

ET&S launched the new CWEP registration system in December 2021 and CWEP staff, students and the state are very happy with the results. The new system includes several process efficiencies that allow CWEP to better meet the needs of the state and students.
