Modernizing Classroom Audiovisual Technology
The Enterprise Technology & Services Learning Space Technologies (LST) team manages the audiovisual technology for all University System of New Hampshire classrooms by providing equipment rentals, system installation and repair, and direct faculty support.
In FY22, the LST team performed a technology assessment of all classrooms at Keene State College (KSC) and Plymouth State University (PSU). At the same time, they focused on all university-controlled classrooms at the University of New Hampshire (UNH)-Durham. LST evaluated the age, health, and modernity of classroom audiovisual technology. This evaluation included a rough estimate for the investment required to raise the classroom’s technology to an LST standard. The LST standard includes being ADA Compliant, Fire Code Compliant, having HDMI digital and wireless projection capability, remote network management, and having all laser lamped projectors.
Ongoing Modernization of Classrooms
LST modernized audiovisual classroom technology through funding sources in 2021/2022. At KSC, the retirement of analog (VGA and VHS) technology is also a component.
