Employment verification is a process that includes, among other things, background checks for new employees and providing banks with payroll information so they can make decisions on loans. Within the University System of New Hampshire, employment verification impacts all human resources and payroll departments. 

The system implements i2Verify for employment verification. According to i2verify.com, the free service automates the processing of wage and employment verification requests by instantly and securely delivering employment information that requestors such as banks or government agencies rely on to make credit granting or benefit entitlement decisions. The service is intended to decrease the time human resources and the payroll office spend manually completing employment verifications and provide quicker verification for employees.

Over the last year, Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S) developed an integration between Banner Payroll and i2Verify to provide employment data to the verification service after each payroll run. This integration began sending employment information to i2Verify in May 2020. 

As a result of this project, the USNH payroll and human resources offices expect to save more than 100 hours of manual verification time every month. All employees will also have access to their information in i2Verify to verify employment.
