We are reaching out to you because we have evidence to believe that you received a malicious phishing email on Friday, April 24. The email would have had a subject line similar to “University of New Hampshire Ongoing Sexual Misconduct Report Document”. You can see a sample email posted to our PhishBowl site here: https://www.usnh.edu/it/departments/cybersecurity/phishbowl-news.
This email prompted the recipient to click a link to open the report and then may have then prompted to:
- Install an application on your computer, such as Adobe Reader;
- Prompted you to enter your university username and password.
If you did install an application:
- Do not use your computer.
- Contact the Help Desk (603-862-2525) to report so that we can provide any other follow-up information and assist with next steps.
If you did not install an application, but did enter your university username and password:
- Change your university account password. Instructions are here: https://td.usnh.edu/TDClient/60/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=4691
- Check that your Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) settings are correct. Instructions to do so are here: https://td.usnh.edu/TDClient/60/Portal/KB/ArticleDet.aspx?ID=4687
