A data management plan (DMP) is a clearly articulated and useful planning document for your research project. DMPs are tailored and living documents – the plan may need to be updated and consulted as your project develops. Data management plans typically address:
- descriptions of the types of data and metadata that will be generated by your research
- plans for managing the data during your project (documentation/metadata; secure storage; QA/QC; roles and responsibilities)
- plans for sharing, preserving, or disposing of the data and metadata after your project
- plans for meeting the data dissemination or long-term preservation requirements of your funding agencies
Contact the Research Data Services Librarian to discuss your data management plan.
