Update on the UNH Presidential Search

September 20, 2006 - The UNH Presidential Search process continues to move forward and on schedule. Ellen Brown and Stuart Sadick from Heidrick & Struggles, our search consultants, were in Durham on September 7 to meet with the full Search Committee. The purpose of this meeting was to prepare for the next phase of the Committee’s work, which is to evaluate and rank prospective candidates. Stuart and Ellen helped detail the nuances of candidate review and worked with us to develop a structure for candidate evaluation. It was a productive meeting and our Committee is prepared and anxious to start the review process.

The Committee also held an open forum on September 7th for additional comments from interested individuals who wanted to share their views on the characteristics we should be looking for in the next president. We received excellent suggestions, and the Committee would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend the open forum.

Heidrick and Struggles continues to receive applications and nominations. Individual members of the Committee have started their review of the candidate information we have received so far. They will review these materials on a rolling basis between now and our next committee meeting, which is scheduled for October 2. At that time, the Committee will discuss the applicant pool and work to begin narrowing the field down to approximately eight to ten candidates.

We continue to strive to keep everyone interested in this process informed about our progress. If you would still like to nominate an individual or know of someone who is interested in being considered by the Committee, it is still not too late to apply. Anyone interested in making a nomination can do so by forwarding nominations and/or expressions of interest to:
