Paying for college can be difficult. Applying for scholarships and financial aid is a great way to reduce the financial burden of your education. Following is a list of resources that can help you to locate and apply for scholarhips, grants, and financial aid:

Affordable College Effort (ACE) Program:
The University System of New Hampshire’s Affordable College Effort (ACE) can assist New Hampshire residents attending a USNH college or university full time within one year after graduating from high school and for which the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is zero. During the freshman year, eligible students incur no loan debt for standard tuition, fees, room, and board.

NHHEAF:
The NHHEAF Network Organizations are the largest source for college funding within New Hampshire and has a 40-year history of helping families plan for and fund higher education. Visit them online at www.nhheaf.org

The UNIQUE 529 College Savings Plan:
The UNIQUE College savings plan is sponsored by the State of New Hampshire and managed by Fidelity Investments. A 529 College Savings Plan is a flexible and federal income tax-advantaged way to invest for college. Named after the federal Internal Revenue Code Section 529 that created them, 529 Plans were specifically designed to help individuals save for college. Each 529 Plan is state-sponsored and managed by a financial services company.

The Plan offers federal income tax free qualified distributions, tax-deferred growth of any earnings. The money can be used for tuition, books, etc. at most accredited two- and four-year colleges and universities, and vocational-technical schools nationwide and at eligible foreign institutions.
