The Chancellor's Office is functionally organized according to the following areas:
External Relations – Outreach, including marketing, communications, event coordination, and web-based communications; development of publications and collateral materials; and public and media relations. Matthew B. Cookson serves as associate vice chancellor for external relations.
Finance, Budget and Audit- Annual and biennial operating budgets; finance and accounting policies; consolidated financial statements; purchasing and inventory management; comprehensive treasury functions; auditing functions; capital planning and development; and information technology. Dr. Edward R. MacKay serves as vice chancellor and treasurer.
General Counsel - Trustee and campus counsel on legal matters; contract drafting negotiation and review; and litigation on behalf of the University System. Ronald F. Rodgers serves as USNH general counsel and secretary.
Government Affairs - Community, state and federal relations; legislative strategy; coordinating testimony; monitoring legislation; serving as a USNH resource to elected leadership. Kathleen K. Salisbury serves as associate vice chancellor government affairs.
Human Resources - Systemwide human resources programs and policies; employee benefits; compensation and classifications; employee labor relations; and wellness programs. Joan M. Tambling serves as director of human resources.
Research and Planning - USNH research, assessment and issue analysis; USNH strategic planning; support of USNH strategic initiatives. Dr. Mary Ellen Fleeger serves as associate vice chancellor for research and planning.
